Sydney Bvurere
has 20 years’ experience with Coopers & Lybrand/Ernst & Young
and PKF of which more than 11 years are at a partner level supporting
organisations in internal and external audit, accounting and business
advisory of varied sizes and industries among them: Public Sector
(national and local government), mining, manufacturing, farming,
micro-financial institutions and building societies, NGOs,
telecommunications and media, downstream oil and gas and small to
medium enterprises. Sydney is the Chief Executive Officer of PKF
Chartered Accountants (Zimbabwe). He is a former managing partner of
Ernst & Young Tanzania and a former partner in charge of one of the
Zimbabwean Ernst & Young offices. Sydney has worked in Zambia and
South Africa in the profession and has a deep understanding of
developing economies, their challenges and opportunities. Sydney
is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Zimbabwe, Zambia and
Tanzanian Accounting Institutes.
Lewis Hussein
has over 15 years’ working experience of which 11 years have been in a
professional firm. He trained with Ernst & Young. At PKF he is in
charge of training and technical. He has vast experience in audit and
accounting support including among others JSE and ZSE listings,
accounting advisory and training in accounting, business controls and
governance. He has worked in industry and commerce as finance director
of CAPS, Celsys and a Tanzanian subsidiary of Aspen Holdings. Lewis
worked in Ernst & Young South Africa providing technical support to
the audit teams on compliance with standards and legislation. Lewis has
experience in retail and manufacturing. He is a qualified Chartered
Accountant (South Africa) & (Zimbabwe), and a holder of a Master’s
in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa. He is a
past winner of the Duff Award of merit for the best qualifying student
in the ICAZ FQE of 1999 and was the top UNISA MBL student in E-Business &
Technology Management in 2007.
Clemence Muzondo
has 21 years’ experience in the profession, industry and commerce. He
trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with the then Coopers
& Lybrand and left after serving his articles in 1993. From then
until joining PKF as partner he has been in industry and commerce where
he held a number of positions among them finance director of Fidelity
Life Assurance, Finance Director and Chief Operations Officer at
Redstar, Finance Director of Intermarket Assurance and head of
finance at Intermaket Holdings .Clemence has vast experience in retail
and insurance which includes experience in designing and implementing
accounting systems, corporate governance structures, ZSE listing
requirements, business advisory, restructuring and company
secretarial. Clemence is a Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe) and holds a
Masters of Business Leadership (MBL) from the University of South
Africa, his focus in his MBL was on Investments and Service Marketing.
Clemence is an active Rotarian.
Josephine Matambo is the Tax Director of PKF Chartered Accountants
(Zimbabwe) responsible for managing the Tax Service Line. She is
a fellow of the Institute of Certified Tax Accountants (ICTA) Zimbabwe.
She holds a Masters in Business Administration Degree (University of
Zimbabwe), Bachelor of Accountancy Degree (University of Zimbabwe), and
a Tax Administration Certificate (Royal Institute of Public
Administration- UK) among other professional and tertiary
qualifications.
She has an illustrious career history that started in 1981 with the tax department in Government of Zimbabwe. By the time she left the tax department she was an Assistant Commissioner of Taxes. Josephine held senior posts in various other accounting firms including being a tax partner withat KPMG Angola. She has been an Associate Director in Tax at PwC Zimbabwe and held senior positions in KPMG Mozambique , Coopers & Lybrand, Ernst & Young Zimbabwe and BDO Kudenga & Co Zimbabwe.
She studied VAT systems in South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda,
Mozambique, Kenya and New Zealand while she was one of the 4
consultants to the Zimbabwean Government in 1998 to study the then
existing indirect tax, propose a VAT system and draft the VAT law upon
introduction of VAT in Zimbabwe. Thereafter she provided VAT
consultancy to the Parliament of Zimbabwe and to Industrial and
Commercial bodies in Zimbabwe, as well as VAT training to companies
throughout Zimbabwe- became the VAT expert in Zimbabwe at that time.
Josephine has tax experience in all tax sectors in Angola, Mozambique
and Zimbabwe.
